How to measure

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall. Mark the tip of your longest toe, then measure from the wall to the mark. Measure both feet late in the day and use the larger measurement.

Between sizes

If your measurement falls right at the top of a band, take the next size up. Leather gives across the width as it is worn, but it does not gain length.

Product Care

Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth after wear.

Allow to air dry naturally, away from direct heat and sunlight.

Avoid prolonged exposure to water. Leather darkens when wet and may mark as it dries.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Leather softens and develops a patina with wear. This is characteristic of the material, not a fault.

What size should I order?

Bronte is sized in EU, 36 to 42, and we size to your foot length rather than your usual size. Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, then measure from the wall to the mark. Measure both feet late in the day, use the larger one, and match it to the size guide beside the size buttons.

How does the ankle strap fasten?

The Bronte has an adjustable ankle strap with a silver-tone pin buckle. We’ve filmed three short videos, further up this page under “How to fasten your Bronte”: setting your fit the first time, reattaching the buckle, and fastening the sandal.

What is the difference between Espresso and Bone?

Espresso is a dark brown in full grain cow leather. Bone is a soft off-white in full grain goat leather. Both have a cow leather footbed debossed with the LEWIJE mark, a rubber outsole and a silver-tone buckle.

Will the leather stretch or soften?

Leather gives across the width as it is worn, but it does not gain length, so choose your size by foot length. It also softens and develops a patina with wear. That is characteristic of the material, not a fault.

How do I look after them?
